The Monday Mash-Up XXXVI

A Right Royal Mash-Up!

IN a week dominated by royalty it’s perhaps appropriate that we start this week’s Mash-Up….at the Castle!

Stirling Gin co-owners Cameron and June McCann were both delighted to attend the Board of Trade Awards evening held at Stirling Castle last week.

The Board of Trade is usually held in Edinburgh but at the behest of our local MP Stephen Kerr, Stirling Castle’s iconic great hall was chosen as the host venue for the awards evening, where no less than Dr Liam Fox, the Secretary of Trade for International Trade and President of The Board of Trade, was presenting the awards.

As you can see from the picture below June was quick to make sure that Dr Fox got to hear of the delights of our unique Stirlingshire wild nettle infused gin and judging by the smile on the good Doctor’s face he liked what he heard!

It was perhaps fitting that in these ‘right royal times’, June, our very own ‘Queen of Gin’ (pictured below), was attending the fifth birthday ‘Forth Valley Women in Business’ lunch where 42 of the most influential business women in Central Scotland enjoyed hearing about the story of Stirling Gin.

Of course, while the weekend was dominated by the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle the royal nuptials were celebrated in many different shapes and forms around the country.

At Doune the first ever farmer’s market coincided with the royal wedding and we are delighted to say our specially produced ‘Wedding Royale’ cocktail, pictured below, went down a treat with the parched punters who attended!

A busy Saturday also saw Stirling Gin make an appearance in the Kingdom of Fife, at Balgove Larder, where we made sure our uber blend helped patrons enjoy a right royal knees up!

But there was no let up on Sunday when June attended the Strathcarron Hospice ‘Ladies Who Lunch’ event with Michelle McManus, the former Queen of the chat show sofa, at The Westerwood Hotel & Golf Resort.

As you can see from the pic below The Westerwood staff did a fantastic job of serving our ‘Bloody Scotland’ cocktail to 350 thirsty ladies who were delighted to let our exclusive cocktail provide the crowning glory to a fab weekend!

Elsewhere at Dunblane Golf Club Cameron had assembled a ‘crack’ team of birdie hunters to take part in a corporate event prior to making sure that the subsequent prize presentation was suitably lubricated with our big nosed botanical blend!

From left to right we have Scottish champion curler Vicky Wright, Adrian Wolf of Wolfe Designs, our glorious leader and Olympic curling ace Greg Drummond.

Although we are assured that Team Stirling Gin produced some ‘majestic’ golf, details about any leader board finish have remained (it’s time to mix those metaphors!) cloaked in a veil of silence!!

Looking ahead SG are delighted to attend this weekend’s Dunblane Fling, which is a celebration of music, culture and family fun we are really looking forward to.

While on Sunday we are thrilled to be presenting an ‘our story’ and sampling experience at the annual Drymen Show dinner and one thing’s for sure…. wait for it…. you can bet we will make sure we will be treating patrons like….royalty!!

Stirling Gin…. isn’t it time you #GraspTheNettle!
