The Monday Mash-Up

A Tale of Two Spirits!

AS you know we like to start ‘The Monday Mash-Up’ with a bit of good news and this week we have plenty of it!

It’s been another hugely busy weekend with our sister company ‘The Stirling Spirit Company’ celebrating a magnificent seven!

No that wasn’t because Len Goodman was in town but because the seventh annual Stirling Whisky Festival celebrated a sell-out success!

Co-owner June McCann has barely had time to catch her breath: “It’s been another ‘dramtastic’ weekend with 700 whisky-lovers helping to make sure we had a sell-out for the seventh Stirling Whisky Festival,” revealed June.

She continued: “What was particularly pleasing about this year’s event was the international flavour it had. We had patrons arriving from Chicago, Switzerland, France and Australia and they all shared one thing, a passion for the water of life and of course enjoyed a Stirling Gin or two!

“But while our ‘drambusters’ had a great time at The Stirling Highland Hotel, a conservative estimate would put the benefit to the local economy, all in, at over £100,000. I think that’s something we should all drink too!”

Of course, there is the small matter of a certain wedding taking place on Saturday and to mark this right royal occasion Stirling Gin are launching a new cocktail to help our patrons raise a glass to ‘Harry & Meghan’!

On Saturday at the first ever Doune Farmers Market ’The Royal Rouge’ will be making its debut appearance and we at SG have no doubt that whether you want to toast the happy couple or just forget about them (!) our new Stirling Gin based cocktail will provide a crowning moment!

Looking forward, next weekend SG will find ourselves out and about at The Balgrove Larder where we are delighted to be providing an in-store tasting in beautiful St Andrews.

But looming large is a date that is simply a must for your diary!

The first ever Gin, Rum & Cocktail festival will be held at historic Gean House in Clackmannanshire a month on Saturday (June 16) and we are now down to our final 76 tickets!

So to avoid disappointment, for what at just £25 per ticket (plus booking fee), is sure to be one of the most memorable days on the summer festival scene, click on BUY HERE

But now for something completely different! As most of you will be aware we are proud sponsors of ‘The Bloody Scotland’ international crime writing festival held in Stirling every September.

So, it seemed a natural progression for SG to come on board as the launch sponsor for Stirling born and bred crime writer RJ Mitchell’s new crime thriller ‘The Shadow of Fear’.

The launch will be taking place on Thursday, June 7 at ‘The Stirling Smith’ and SG co-owners Cameron and June McCann were delighted to be on hand as The Stirling Observer photographer got jiggy with his camera at a sun-kissed Stirling Smith earlier today.

Pictured below June & Cameron are in the back row flanked by WH Smith Scotland director David Hunter and Stirling Smith director Elspeth King with RJ, the ‘Stirling scribbler’, seated front.

RJ Book Launch 1

Book launches can be thirsty events and it would be criminal if Stirling Gin wasn’t along to make sure it was a well-oiled occasion!

But until next time that’s all folks!

Stirling Gin isn’t it time you #GraspTheNettle!
