The Monday Mash Up

                                                Life’s a Marathon not a Sprint!

AS official gin of The Stirling Marathon you must forgive us if we hit the ground running in this week’s Mash-Up!

With almost 6,000 enthusiastic runners tackling both the full marathon distance of 26.2 miles and the half marathon abbreviated version it was only right that your favourite wild-nettle infused botanical blend was on hand to help our ‘athletes’ gin and bear it!

Our first picture from Sunday’s action shows our crack team of elite ‘gin-runners’, Stewart, Lisa and Marc setting up and preparing for the arrival of some very thirsty customers!

Marathon 1

SG co-owner Cameron McCann was delighted with a…wait for it…well-run day: “As official craft gin supplier to The Great Run Company we supply Stirling Gin to eight of their runs including The Great North Run, but the run that is closest to our heart is naturally The Stirling Marathon.

“This is our second year supplying SG at the event but our first when we have also supplied our Bloody Scotland cocktail and I was particularly pleased with how well it went down!

“I’d just like to take the chance to thank Stirling Marathon director Jennifer Isaacs for all her help and to congratulate all the runners who took part and no doubt raised thousands for well deserving causes. It really was a great day out.”

Next up we have the first two customers, of what proved to be a ‘marathon day’ out, with these two young ladies trusting in the reviving powers of a blood transfusion…..courtesy of our ‘Bloody Scotland’ cocktail!

Marathon 5

But with blues skies eventually triumphing over cloud and showers we were delighted to see Sarah’s first port of call after she had received her medal was the Stirling Gin Gazebo where our big nosed gin once again proved just the tonic!

Marathon 4

Next up we have three young ladies who seemed to wrap up their day quickly and were delighted to see their best efforts foiled again!

Marathon 2

Of course, as we mentioned our own crack SG team proved to be real prize guys with runners, patrons and officials alike and it’s only fitting that from left to right Mark, Kinchie, Lisa and Stewart were awarded their own podium finish!

Marathon 3

But before we leave you this week it really is time to confirm that spring has sprung!

Pictured below is a sight that gladdens the heart of all at Stirling Gin…the blooming of the wild Stirlingshire nettle!

Spring Nettles

Particularly with the early season nettle there is a sweetness of note that we believe firmly enhances you favourite big-nosed botanical blend!

Indeed, if you were about recently in our favourite ‘hunting grounds’ up in Bridge of Allan’s historic Minewood or the King’s Park, you may have spotted us busily hand-picking our early season crop!

One things for sure….you can bet we were #GraspingTheNettle!!
