The Monday Mash-Up

 Stirling Gin At the Movies!

THIS week we are starting at the movies!

Stirling Gin was delighted to be invited along to one of Scotland’s great cultural events, the 8th annual Hippodrome Silent Movie Festival in Bo’ness.

You might think this a strange place for us to visit but gin and indeed cocktails have a strong connection with the era of the silent silver screen.

It was the legendary silent movie star WC Fields who once quipped: “I exercise extreme self-control. I never drink anything stronger than gin before breakfast!”

While despite ‘Prohibition’ being enforced across the pond some of the biggest names of the 20’s like Charlie Chaplin and Mary Pickford also had cocktails named after them,

So, our intrepid brand ambassador Stewart Patience, was on hand at Bo’ness Town Hall to provide a gin and cocktail master class.

With a Stirling Gin and tonic served to each patron upon arrival at Hippfest’s very own silent saloon, as you can see from the pic below, our big-nosed botanical blend went down a treat with these femme fatales!!

Our next stop is the Blythswood Hotel where SG were delighted to be part of a select eight gin ensemble for what was very much a boutique Gin Festival for a select audience of 120 gin lovers who were introduced to the delights of our uber botanical blend for the first time.

As you can see from the pic below SG brand rep Marc McParland was in full flow as he ensured the gin flowed and we are delighted to report that so well did Stirling Gin go down that we have now been added to the gin list at arguably the most exclusive five-star establishment in Glasgow.

Our second festival appearance of the week came at Glasgow University where with Stewart and Marc once again on duty, SG were honoured guests of the Glasgow University Gin Society and we hope that at such an illustrious seat of learning we managed to educate a few palates in the delights of our wild nettle infused gin!

As if that wasn’t enough SG were also on duty at both The St Enoch Centre, Glasgow and Stirling’s The Thistles Centre where our unique hand-crafted Easter Egg created exclusively for SG by Carol, ‘The Chocolate Gallery’s’ master chocolatier and filled with our famous 5cl cheeky chappy Ginster bottle proved just the job for shoppers!

Our St Enoch’s appearance also marked the first unveiling of our new gin- wagon and we hope you don’t mind us sharing a pic of our pride and joy!

New Cart Master

Of course, on Friday tickets for this year’s Stirling Gin Festival went on general release at a bargain £27.50 (plus booking fee) per session for the triple tippling soirée, which will once again be held at the iconic Stirling Highland Hotel on Friday, November 2 and Saturday, November 3.

Naturally we are delighted to report that just three days later, session three (Saturday night) is almost sold out, while the Saturday afternoon is not far behind and Friday evening, session one is also selling steadily.

With 120 gins set to be presented for tasting compared to 100 last year, the 2017 record of 1203 bottles sold is sure to fall this November and if you want to experience the unique delights of what is fast becoming the most popular festival on the Scottish craft gin scene click on and then click Stirling Gin Festival!

We promise you a fascinating weekend full of insight, warmth and the best gins in the UK await….sound good?
