The Monday Mash-Up

Home (Almost) Alone!

WE are delighted to start this week’s Monday-Mash-Up with a little picture exclusive!

You will of course be aware that we have had the green light from Stirling Council Planning Department to proceed with our plans to convert a Victorian Blacksmiths into our new ‘Old Smiddy’ Distillery.

Below is the first ever picture taken from inside the premises with co-owner June McCann acting as tour guide to The Scottish Gin Society Awards Programme Manager Pippa Barker!

Distillery Exclusive

‘Juniper’ was understandably delighted to play hostess: “The next step in the process is of course to get to work on the conversion procedure but nevertheless it was an exciting moment to finally get access to the premises and show Pippa around,” said our first lady of gin.

June continued: “As you can see the potential to create a bespoke 21st century custom built gin distillery, while also retaining some of the charm and character of the ‘Old Smiddy’s’ Victorian heritage, is awesome….so watch this space!”

Of course, you may wonder what Pippa (we love her fab Leopard skin boots!) from The Scottish Gin Awards was doing being given an exclusive show round….but that can wait for another day!!

Of course, we couldn’t let this week’s Mash-Up go without mentioning ‘The Beast from The East’ which certainly proved to have plenty of bite!

As you can see from the pic below of the Stirling Gin van, we were confined to barracks and were particularly sad to miss out on a sports dinner due to be held by Falkirk FC, for whom Stirling Gin are the official gin suppliers.

Snowbound

But while we missed out a big night out with The Bairns we were delighted to put our spare night to good use when SG organised a private tasting for our two new summer gin liqueurs which will be launched when the weather is hopefully a bit balmier!

Although at this stage we can’t reveal the names or contents of our two top secret summer tipples, we can tell you that they went down very well as our guinea pigs from the worlds of crime fiction, corporate business, canine care and five-star hotels all purred in satisfaction at their servings!

Pictured below we can assure you that our ruby red rib-tickler helped banish ‘The Beast’ and ensure that our patrons were left with a warm feeling inside!

Sneak Preview

But thankfully the big thaw is well on the way now and the week ahead is another busy one for Stirling Gin with co-owner Cameron McCann at Stirling University, where he will be casting his beady eye over a series of presentations produced by MBA students for our’ projected ‘Bloody Scotland’ cocktail launch.

While on March 22 the Stirling Gin Pop-Up shop will once again…er…well…pop-up, but this time amazingly in two places at the same time, with Stirling’s Thistles Centre and the St Enoch Centre in Glasgow being given the full SG treatment!

We are particularly looking forward to our debut appearance at the St Enoch Centre where we hope our bespoke gin-wagon, pictured below, will go down like an SG over ice!
