The Monday Mash-Up XXIII

My Secret Valentine

WITH Valentine’s Day just 48hours away Stirling Gin has been doing everything it can to help make sure that love is most definitely in the air!

As you can see from the picture below our ‘Gin Wagon’ has been given the full Valentine’s Day make-over to make sure that Cupid’s bow has plenty of ammunition with which to hit the mark!

Valentine Thistles

Situated in Stirling’s Thistles Centre, our pop-up gin shop has been doing a roaring trade and it’s been interesting to note just how many male customers have ‘bought’ into the idea that a selection from the SG range will make sure a smile will light up their Valentine’s face!

Of course, there are loads of songs that have been written around the whole Valentine’s Day concept, with multi-million seller artists like T’Pau (remember them?) and Paul McCartney recording Valentine’s themed songs.

But we thought we’d share with you the lyrics from a version of ‘My Secret Valentine’ by American rock band We The Kings, with one little change in the lyrics!

Soft kiss and gin what a pretty friend of mine
We’re finally intertwined

Nervous and shy for the moment we will come
Alive tonight

Hopefully that’s wetted your whistle!!!

Meanwhile it’s been another busy weekend with Stirling Gin on parade at the Gin Fayre in Dunblane, which was held in the city’s famous Victoria Halls and we are delighted to report that both ‘gin sessions’ were a 200-person sell-out, as you can see from the pic below.

Dunblane Crowd

With co-owner Juniper and SG brand ambassador Stewart ‘Baby Faced Assassin’ Patience (pictured below) on duty, sales of our exclusive range of wild-nettle infused gin went through the roof and we’re sure the Dunblane Gin Fayre will now go on to become a firm fixture on the ‘gin-circuit’!

As those of you who are regular readers of ‘The Mash-Up’ blog will be aware we are the official gin suppliers of Falkirk FC.

And we are delighted that Stirling Gin has been going down so well with ‘The Bairns’ that fresh supplies were needed and below Falkirk director Kieran Koszary takes delivery of a case which we are sure went down well after Paul Hartley’s side despatched Cove Rangers 3-1 in the Scottish Cup fifth round on Saturday.

Clearly it was a case of child’s play for The Bairns!! (sorry about that one!)

Now it’s time to let you know about two other events Stirling Gin we will be attending this week.

On Saturday 17th February, the SG Bloody Scotland cocktail will be providing a mouth-watering welcome at the Radisson Blu where our friends at ScotRail are hosting a glitzy event.

While on Sunday SG will be flying the flag at the Blytheswood Hotel Gin Festival, so another busy weekend awaits!

Before we go we thought it would be nice to share another snap from our gin ‘love-wagon’ at The Thistles Centre…and remember if anything catches your eye then it’s not too late to click on line at www.stirlinggin.co.uk and place a last minute order for a secret Valentine’s present that we guarantee will make your loved one’s Valentine’s Day a special one!
