WE are delighted to reveal that Stirling Gin has been nominated in three categories of this evening’s inaugural Scottish Gin Awards.
Our unique artisan tipple, which draws its key botanical from wild Stirlingshire nettles picked from locations around the county like Bridge of Allan’s historic Minewood, has made the final of the blue ribbon London Dry Gin of the Year, Growth Business of the Year and Scottish Gin Event of the Year.
Tonight’s gala black tie do is organised by the Scottish Gin Society and will be hosted by Reporting Scotland’s Catriona Shearer and Capital FM DJ Des Clarke at a swish tartan-tinged dinner in the Hilton Glasgow.
With Stirling Gin set to move into our new bespoke distillery in the city’s Castlehill area later this year, the triple nomination represents a meteoric rise to prominence within the burgeoning Scottish Gin scene for our co-owners Cameron and June McCann, who lovingly distilled their first batch of gin at home in a quaint copper pot still call Jinty, just two years ago.
A delighted Cameron said: “We are thrilled and very proud to have been nominated in the three categories, particularly since we are one of the youngest Gins to have been nominated in the finals.
“But we are also delighted to be flying the flag for Stirling. The key ingredient in our gin is the wild Stirlingshire nettle which helps give our gin its unique big nose and to have this type of recognition so early in our journey is tremendous and very exciting.
“So we really hope the judges grasp the nettle!”
