Spiced Winter Punch at The Stirling Gin Festival

Another great weekend with Stirling Gin at the Stirling Highland Hotel, where 22 different exhibitors displayed their tasty products. With this being the 3rd Annual Stirling Gin Festival, and landing so close to the Gins 1st birthday, it was a special weekend for Stirling gin. In-keeping with the quirky drinking vessels of previous years, Cameron & June pulled out all the stops and crafted cut down fever tree bottles into nice little tasting glasses for the guests.

At the Stirling gin stand, there was the opportunity to try (or even re-familiarise yourself with) Stirling gin and chat about what goes into this refreshing spirit. However, this year there was also a Spiced Winter Punch (rather than a birthday cake) to celebrate the success of the Gin’s first year. After many requests for the recipe it was promised to be put up on the site, and so here it is!……

1 Bottle of Stirling Gin

500ml Apple

500ml Cranberry

500ml Pineapple

350ml Grenadine

500ml Lemon

1tbsp Citric Acid

6 Cinnamon Sticks

2tbsp Cloves

4 Star Anise

Grated Nutmeg

Add all ingredients EXCEPT the Gin to a saucepan and allow to simmer for around half an hour until all the spices have warmed through the liquid. Once your punch has cooled and been strained to remove spices, add your Stirling Gin. The Slight Aniseed finish in the gin works incredibly well with the Winter Spices and makes for a warming festive punch to enjoy with family and friends!
